The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the notice for the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2025. This competitive examination aims to recruit candidates for various Group C posts, including Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) and Data Entry Operators (DEO), for numerous Ministries, Departments, and Offices under the Government of India, as well as Constitutional and Statutory Bodies. Total 3,131 vacancies for the following posts:

• Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)
• Postal Assistant (PA) / Sorting Assistant (SA)
• Data Entry Operator (DEO) (including DEO Grade ‘A’)

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification:
  • Minimum 12th pass from a recognized board.
  • Specifically for DEO (in C&AG/ministry roles): 12th with Mathematics
• Age Limit(as on 1 Jan or 1 Aug 2026 depending on official notification):
  • General: 18–27 years
  • Date of birth eligibility: Between 2 Jan 1999 – 1 Jan 2008
  • Relaxation: SC/ST (5), OBC (3), PwD (10–15), Ex‑Servicemen, etc.

Selection Process

1. Tier‑1 (CBT) – 200 marks, 100 questions across 4 sections (Intelligence, English, Quant, GK), duration 60 min, 0.50 mark penalty per wrong answer
2. Tier‑2 – Descriptive paper + Objective/Skill test
   • Descriptive: essay & letter writing (100 marks)
   • Skill/Typing:
     • DEO: 8,000 key depressions/hour (15 min)
     • LDC/JSA: Typing 30 wpm (English) or 25 wpm (Hindi) in 10–15 min
3. Document verification & Medical exam

Pay Scale

• LDC/JSA: Pay Level 2 (₹19,900–63,200)
• DEO (C&AG etc.): Level 4 (₹25,500–81,100)
• DEO (other departments): Level 5 (₹29,200–92,300)

Application Fee

• ₹100 for General/OBC/EWS
• Exemption for Women, SC/ST, PwD, and Ex‑Servicemen
