The Panchkula Police Department is hiring 24 Special Police Officers (SPOs) from ex-servicemen and Central Armed Police Forces on July 10, 2024. The selected SPOs will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs. 20,000 (credited to bank accounts), Rs. 3000 for uniforms, and Rs. 150 per day for travel during official tours. They will undergo a 15-day training course and may be posted outside their home stations. Benefits include casual leave, and ex-gratia payments for death or injury while on duty. The contract is for one year, with no regularization, and may be terminated early if conduct is unsatisfactory.
