NHPC Limited, a prominent Navratna Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has announced the opening of online applications for its one-year apprenticeship training program. A total of 361 Graduate, Diploma, and ITI apprentice positions are available across various units and locations, offering a significant opportunity for promising and energetic candidates. NHPC, recognized as the largest hydropower company in India and a leader in the design, construction, and operation of hydropower plants, is 70.95% owned by the Government of India. The company has commissioned 23 Hydro Projects, 6 Solar Power Projects, and 1 Wind Power Project, demonstrating its extensive presence in the power sector. The apprenticeship engagement is initially for one year, with a potential extension up to two years, as per the provisions of the Apprentice Act, 1961.

Eligibility Criteria

• Age: 18–30 years as of 1 Jan 2025 (per Govt. norms)

• Educational Qualifications:

  • Graduates: Relevant Bachelor’s degree (e.g. B.Tech, B.Sc, MBA, LLB, BPT, B.Sc Nursing, M.A Hindi/English, PG Diploma in Safety)

  • Diploma: Engineering or relevant discipline diploma

  • ITI: NCVT/SCVT certificate in the respective trade

Stipend Details

• Graduate Apprentices: ₹15,000/month

• Diploma Apprentices: ₹13,500/month

• ITI Apprentices: ₹12,000/month

• Plus additional DBT support (~₹4,000–4,500) under NATS, and ₹2,500 extra if no accommodation is provided

Selection Process

• Merit-based only — no exam or interview.

  • Graduates: 10th 20% + 12th/Diploma 20% + Degree 60%

  • Diploma: 10th 30% + Diploma 70%

  • ITI: 10th 30% + ITI 70%

• Preferences: project-affected families → candidates from project district → state → others

Positions are across NHPC locations: Faridabad (HQ), Chamba, Kullu, Leh, Kargil, Jammu, Darjeeling, Sikkim, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, and more

   • NATS/NAPS registration number

   • Academic certificates (10th, 12th, ITI/Diploma/Degree)

4. Submit the form by 11 August 2025, 5 PM. No application fee is required.
