Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Must possess a BVSc/BVSc & AH degree from a recognized Indian university or its equivalent foreign degree recognized under the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984.
- Candidates must have completed their internship and be registered with the Veterinary Council of India or State Veterinary Council.
Age Limit (as of 26th May 2025)
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 32 years
- Age relaxation is applicable as per government norms.
Nationality
- Must be a citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from specified countries with the intention of permanent settlement in India.
Selection Process
- Initial Screening: Applications will be screened at the Directorate General Remount Veterinary Services, Integrated Headquarters of MoD (Army).
- SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be informed about the SSB interview date and venue.
- Merit List: Prepared based solely on SSB marks.
- Medical Examination: Conducted by a Medical Board. Female candidates will be examined by a Lady Medical Officer.
Training and Service Conditions
- Rank on Commission: Captain
- Training Location: RVC Centre & College, Meerut Cantt.
- Ante-date Seniority: 12 to 24 months based on post-graduation or PhD in veterinary science.
- Tenure: Initial tenure of 5 years, extendable up to 10 years in two spells (5+4 years).
- Promotion: Eligible for promotion up to Lt. Colonel (SSC); if granted Permanent Commission (PC), up to Colonel (TS).
Pay, Allowances & Benefits
- Pay Level: Captain Pay Matrix (Level 10B): ₹61,300/-
- Military Service Pay: ₹15,500/-
- Non-Practice Allowance (NPA): 20% of basic pay
- Additional Benefits: Kit Maintenance Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Leave Travel Concession, 60 days annual leave, 20 days casual leave, free medical and accommodation facilities.
